The Dream Work

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique that promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety, and encourages healing. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a "universal energy" is said to be transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the patient in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.

The word "Reiki" comes from the Japanese words "rei" (universal) and "ki" (life energy). Reiki is based on the idea that all living things have a special energy flowing through them called life energy. When your life energy is high, you are more likely to be healthy and happy.

Benefits of Reiki

The Five Reiki Principles

The founder of Reiki, Mikao Usui, created five principles to help guide practitioners in their daily lives. These principles are often recited at the beginning of Reiki sessions:

Just for today, I will not worry

Worry can drain your energy and prevent healing. Focus on the present moment instead of anxieties about the future.

Just for today, I will not be angry

Anger disrupts your energy flow and can cause physical and emotional harm. Practice compassion and understanding.

Just for today, I will be grateful

Gratitude shifts your focus to the positive aspects of life and opens you to receive more blessings.

Just for today, I will do my work honestly

Honest work brings satisfaction and purpose to your life, contributing to your overall wellbeing.

Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing

Kindness creates positive energy that benefits both the giver and receiver, creating harmony in the world.
